Really interesting data and insights - thank you.

As a Manchester United fan, it's their figures that capture my attention the most. I think their strategy for the women's team is currently poor.

Compare them with Arsenal - who, granted, have had a much longer runway to get to their level - and they've got serious work to do.

Maybe the Chelsea and Manchester City figures should be more concerning though - at least to their marketing department.

Liverpool moved from Tranmere to St Helens to play their smaller venue games. Tranmere is on the extreme west side of Liverpool. They’d played there for years. The move to St Helen’s took the to the extreme east side. Now they are closer to Manchester than they are to Tranmere. People who went to the games for years won’t travel the hour plus to St Helens to watch now. As a Liverpool fan and someone who has seen their fair share of women’s games at both venues, these stadiums and their locations have a huge impact on attendances. Neither are close to Anfield. You can’t get public transport to St Helens. If you can’t drive there, you’re out of luck. There is a lack of cross promotion on social media as well. The stadium is a major issue for getting fans there. They may as well be the St Helens women’s team because the majority of fans that go to the venue are all from the town rather than Liverpool.
