I actually considered incorporating the January window into this series. However, the purpose of the retrospection was to test our original summer verdicts against the contributions of those summer arrivals and departures. Bundling January business into the same assessment would make it difficult to judge the summer windows fairly, particularly for clubs whose seasons were substantially altered by mid-season recruitment.
I am also preparing our analysis of the ongoing 2026–27 summer window and modelling the projected outcome of the coming WSL season, both of which will begin coming out as the window closes and the season approaches.
If time permits, I would still like to produce one separate piece examining the most influential January moves across the league. I cannot promise it yet because of everything already planned, but it is definitely an analysis worth doing.
